New Pots and Pans

When we got married Bret and I did not get very many pots and pans for serious cooking, so while we were in apartments I just made due with what I had. But recently I was watching Good Eats and Alton Brown said that you should not use non stick pans when you are searing things or even sauteing because when the coating reaches a really high temp it releases toxic gases. YUCK GROSS. So anyways I decided that it was time to get a few "grown up" pots and pans. I went to Bed Bath and Beyond because I had a coupon and they had a good stainless steel cuisinart set on sale for 89.99 and then I had my 20% off coupon. AWESOME! I wish I had a real picture, but this is what my set looks like. I know that it is not super duper gourmet, but hey it is a start!

Tonight for dinner I made an awesome dish called cayenne rubbed chicken. It was so good. Thanks Marcie for the recipe. It was delish! I love love loved it! I wish I had a pic of that. Oh and sidenote. If anyone has not been to the pioneer woman's website. Go she is so funny and tells the best stories! I am telling ya! This girl is super rad! http://www.thepioneerwoman.com

The blogging world is seriously the best. How fun that you got new pots and pans. And even better that you got to put them to use. I saw that recipe on Marcy's blog. It sure looked good! I love it when people share good recipe's and information. It's the best.

Yay for new pots and pans! I got all mine from my mom when SHE decided she wanted new pans. Either way you get them, they are fun! lol

I'm glad you liked the chicken dish. We made it again Sunday---so twice in one week for us. YUM!

I have seen that pioneer woman website. It's pretty fun. My cousin introduced to the site a while back, though I haven't checked it for a while.

Hey Brooke! I've been reading your blog for a while now, I love being able to see what you're up to! I've tried to keep mine secret, mostly just for my sisters. (Which is why I've never commented on yours before.) How did you find me?? I'm dying to know...

Thank you SO MUCH for sharing that link to Pioneer Woman's blog!! She is so funny, I'm loving it. And her cooking website is amazing. I can't wait to try "Marlboro Man's Favorite Sandwich."

This comment is probably long enough so I'll start writing an email to you now. Glad we can stay connected. Your family is adorable. xoxo
