Market Research and text book

This morning I went to do a market research focus group for my car. I love my car, its a Chrysler Town and Country. I love that its a Van, I know people aren't van people but I love it.

I swear if I could do focus groups all day long, seriously I would be a rich lady. They paid me $250 to talk in a group about my opinions and show them my car and go in different cars and tell them if I like them or not. Seriously. I actually had a lot of fun.

Now I am in love with the Ford Flex, seriously an awesome car. I wish that I had it, but don't tell me van, she might get her feelings hurt!

Funny story, the guy looking through my car and asking me about the features that I liked saw my children's primary song cds and said, "oh I see you got your primary songs."
I said, "Are you LDS?" he said yes, and that he was from the Detroit area.

Then he said, "When I was watching the tape, (we were filmed and recorded in a separate room from the researchers) I knew that you were LDS and I grabbed your file first so I could confirm."
Then I said, "What made you so sure??"
To which he said, "Oh with your answers, and how you look, you were text book Mormon, southern california girl.?"

What? I wasn't offended but when I asked him what he meant, he couldn't give me a good answer except that I was just "text book."

Thinking about it, I was not offended I was happy, happy that maybe a little bit of the light of Christ was shining through?? Maybe?

Or maybe it was the fact that I am 24, driving a mini-van with two children???

What do you think?

WOW $250!! That's awesome! I would definitely say BOTH, by the way! :)

I think it's a compliment. You are obviously a good example to others and it shows. If he would've said something like "I would've never guessed you were LDS" than you should've been offended and reevaluated the message you display to others. Good job text book mormon mom, for being such a great example to others.

I am dying laughing right now. You are so awesome, Brooke, and I love that you loved your focus group! I want to do them, too!! I would totally take it as a huge compliment!! You are young, pretty, friendly, fashionable yet modest (the true sign of so cal mormon), and the van doesn't hurt. But, most of all, you radiate the Spirit and it's so obvious! Love it!
