So my hair and I have a love/hate relationship. I love that its red, hate that its ridiculously straight/flat and most of all, I mean most of all. I HATE HATE HATE my cowlick. I've talked about it before. But I need help. So I am getting my hair cut on Thursday and wondering if I should grow my hair out and just get a trim or keep my hair shoulder length and not grow it out. I have been told that my hair looks better shorter by hairstylists, but don't they like short hair on everyone? So what should I do. I want to grow it out, but then it might just be a flat, boring, de-void of style mess. I like a shorter-ish cut but then I feel older, and hello I am in my 20s shouldn't I embrace that, but is my hair just better suited to be shorter. UGH. I need help, so please give me an opinion, and none of this, your hair looks good either way nonsense. I need everyone to comment on this one, even lurkers. And maybe I can even get Mormon in Manhattan to comment. She is a fav of mine! Come on Natalie Hill give me your opinion girl! But seriously I need advice girls!

ooh! i am the first one!! UG I so know EXACTLY how you feel about a cowlick!
Long or short your hair always looks so cute! I love your short hair cut!! But...I am all about changing it up so my vote is going long! Then you can always cut it again and have a super fun new look. Oh, and I think you are lucky that your hair is straight and flat. Believe me I don't think there is a flat iron hot enough that can make mine flat enough!
I agree with Emily! you look seriously beautiful either way but growing it out longer will be different, and then you can always cut it later!
I love your hair short. I think it compliments your bone structure so well! Love it short!
I would grow it out...I think it looks pretty long! :)
I think short, but this is coming from a girl in the middle of the painstaking process of growing it out and is anti-hair-cuts right now :)
Short! But not too short. It just fits you and your beautiful face!
i am voting for letting it grow out. I feel you on the long short debate, i feel old when its short but feel blah when its long sometimes, i found somewhere in the middle is what i like, just below my shoulders, so thats what i'm suggesting to you. I am by no means a beauty consultant so take mt advice with a grain of salt.
Love you!
I agree 100 Percent with Lisa. I have been in the same Dilemma for a while. I grew up with hair down to my waist. My Mother would never let me cut it. Then I got married and cut it grew it cut it and never could figure out what I wanted. So I am finding an in between length that I light. When you cut hair above the shoulders, to me its so hard to maintain that length because once it hits your shoulders it flips funny. I am finally past that and finding an in between length that looks cute up, long enough to curl but short enough that I dont look like repunzel. Plus you are right. Shorter hair does tend to age. But also, you dont want hair too long and look like you are in high school. Also agree with Elizabeth, you look beautiful whatever you do!!!
I'm a fan of long hair - but you really look cute with short hair...I think I would grow it out for the summer so you can do ponies and fun stuff to put it up when it's hot and then cut it again for Fall! You're lucky that you look cute both ways!!! :)
normally i would say long, but your hair looks so HOT short! if i were you, i'd stick with short because you can. it's so cute on you, and short hair is easier to take care of (i think)
Short all the way! I don't think short looks old at all! And now with summer coming and two little ones in toe---I'd keep things as easy as possible...or you'll just end up with your hair in a pony every day and where is the style in that?
(ps, did you get my email? I'm getting ready to go out of town and want to make sure you got it)
But you can't go wrong Brooke, you're gorgeous either way! Oh, but I hear you on the cowlick. I struggle with mine too. I'd love to do fun bangs, but NEVER would they work for me.
Ok---I count as a lurker! I totally read your blog through the Morris' blog 'cause I'm nosy and I love keeping up with your cute girls (I was in your BYU married ward and you let me hold Reese one day when I really needed some baby love!).
And, my vote is short. That's typically my advice to people because I LOVE short cuts, but I do think it frames your face better. Although you certainly do not look bad with long hair either! I have always been jealous of those with red hair. :)
Short short short! I just cut mine to my chin and it was the best hair decision I've made!! I don't think David will ever let me got back to long. Let's be honest Brooke, you and I both know that your hair is better short because of your heart shaped face and because it is so thin. When it is short you can add more volume and sexiness and when it is long that is much harder. I know you'll do the right thing. xoxo
I definitely say grow it out! It seems to me that older women look better with shorter hair cuts, so you should embrace your beautiful, long red hair while you're young and it looks great to have it super long. If you hate the transition you can always cut it shorter later, but longer is the safer choice for now.
short. If I didn't have a fro and a chubby face, I would totally cut mine short. I think it's so sophisticated.
I like it short! I have that love/hate thing too but to me the only point of growing it long is for the fun of cutting it off again. I think short hair is fun and sassy not "old"!
Luckily you look like a million bucks either way! If you feel like a change...grow it out, so you can cut it again!
I'm a short hair gal but I only wish my hair could look as good as yours long. Go long!
My honest opinion? People that have the SAME hair style all of the time are the ones who look old, not to mention BORING. So switch it up girl, that is what keeps you young and fiesty! The great news is you look great either way, so have fun with it and EMBRACE your straight hair.
