Na Pali Coast. Kalalau trail. aka heaven!Ok I realize a lot of my posts are about how much I love yoga now, but really it has changed my life and the way that I look at exercise.
Sometimes the instructor will read a quote or share a thought before yoga and recently they talked about the concept of Ahimsa, which is non-violence, obviously to others but also to self. Then they said that judgments and negative thoughts about oneself are violent and then you are not helping yourself.
I LOVE this about yoga. I have often felt judged when I go to a gym or a spin class or anything, not just by myself but by others. This concept has really stuck with me. Its about not beating yourself up and being violent with your body. But it is also about no being stagnant and accepting that a little pain is good for growth, but no too much. It is a balance.
Ok I will get off my yogi platform. Bret says he might turn around and then one day I will be living out of a tree and stop shaving my arms, I assured him that will never happen, but I did tell him that I wouldn't mind living on the Na Pali trail with him for a few weeks. I kinda like this "hippie attitude" I have been feeling lately.
May we all practice more Ahimsa, non-violence, to each other and ourselves!
