We just spent a week in northern california. It started out with just Bret and I and then my mom, my glorious wonderful mother, came up with the girls. We went up to tryout for American Idol (more on that later), see the city and most important see my Grandma Mac. She is not doing great and has a live-in nurse with her. My grandpa recently passed away and it has been really hard for her, he was her caretaker. She is going to more into my uncle's house and he has made a little area for her in his downstairs and it will be great because she will have her nurse there but she will also be able to be around my aunt and uncle and their kids. She enjoys the company. She can't talk very well but she is very content with sitting next to someone and holding their hand. I wish I lived closer because I would come over more often and just sit and hold her hand. She has the softest hands and she still goes to get her nails painted.
I remember my grandma making the best food. She was such a great cook and seamstress. She made a fabulous strawberry rhubarb pie. She made me quilts and made a lot of the things around her house. She is not a member of the church but she was always supportive of my mom and her choice to be baptized. I am so grateful for that. I love her and loved seeing her.
My grandma decided to give us her dining room table that they have had since the 1960's. It is 50 years old! It has been refinished multiple times and has the most COMFORTABLE chairs you can imagine. I love it. It is a classic Ethan Allan dining table in a walnut finish and it will never go out of style. It is AMAZING! Everytime I look at it I think about my grandma and all those amazing meals I had at her house. Thank you Grandma Mac!
Reese, Charlee and Bret at the table. How awesome are those vintage placemats? They are my grandmas as well.

Another view of the table. This is with both leaves in the table so it seats six but it can also but a circle with just four chairs. Can you tell I LOVE IT?

Bret and Reese had a movie-date on Saturday. Bret wanted to watch Babe with her but Reese talked him into Anastasia, he's such a softie! hahaha! :) Those two love their popcorn so much!

Careful - I don't consider myself vintage yet - born 1959! :) I love your table and chairs though!
